Top 10 Poptropica Islands!

Hi! I’m Quick Sky, and this is my first blog post, on my poptropica blog “poptropicafever”.

So to start off on a good note I’d like to have top ten post! Who doesn’t love top tens?
And this is for… TOP TEN POPTROPICA ISLANDS!!!!

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

10. Cryptids

Yay Cryptids! This was one of the very first islands I ever finished… probably the second or the third. Second. Yeah, I’m gonna go with that. Anyway, there I was… anticipating the Jersey Devil (thanks to the amazing Thinknoodles:) … and BOOM! It… wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. But amazing? YEAH! Cryptids is one of those oldies but goodies, and it’ll always have a special place in my heart.

9. Great Pumpkin

Okay, so I KNOW some people are going disagree about this with me about this. Back up, guys! I have an explanation! Well, kind of. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays… and the charm of the island… well, it’s hard to explain. It was… fun. And amazing. And strangely hard for my 6-year-old mind. It was the only island I truly missed when it became one of the 7 member’s-only islands. (And personally, I think it kicks Nabooti’s BUTT!)

8. Mystery Train

Straightforward and to the point, Mystery Train was truly a work of art. I love how they did all… you know, that… mystery stuff. 😀 It was great meeting all those historical figures! However, I feel it should be rated one star on the map because your character practically tells you what to do. It’s almost too easy. Each to their own, I suppose.

7. Survival Island (the whole thing)

I know, I know, most of you guys are going to be shaking your heads at this point. And for the rest of the list, too, honestly. I just like these islands that I feel are underrated! They’re… they’re fun! And that adjective includes Survival island–and not just the first episode, but the whole thing. I know how people are going all crazy on how it’s “copied off” this other book, which is a good book, so I have no idea why people are angry about it. It’s not like the whole thing was plagiarized off “The Most Dangerous Game”. I mean, it’s similar, but definitely not the same. So yeah, I loved the whole idea of this, mostly because I love the book and nature. So that’s why it’s on my list. 🙂

6. Super Villain

Okay, this one is a teaser, and that’s why it doesn’t get a picture. Basically, I was looking for islands to make my list, and since I couldn’t find one that was “eh I like it” (this is, after all, number 6 and should probably be ranked lower but I’m too lazy too) and this just caught my eye, so… hello Super Villian island! The main part was okay, but I loved the plot twist of how Zeus was actually Dr. Jupiter. And that boss battle was HARD for me! It took me forever, but I finally managed to get it. Just when you were like “phew, it’s over!” Zeus would come over and do another crazy thing like turn into a statue and shoot lightning bolts at you. But the journey is better than the medallion, and that’s why I absolutely LOVED this island! Not for the beginning, but for the plot and boss battle. Although it was a bit weird that, say El Mustachio Grande was in prison before you completed his island. Eh, I guess he escapes Super Villain Island in time for you to fight him in Wild West!

5. Twisted Thicket

Can I just say I’m a big environmentalist here? And then there were all the challenges, with barely any time to breath. While you’re playing it’s pretty annoying when you have to keep starting over (I’m looking at you, Nokken!), but when you finish you sit back and look at your medallion and say “that was amazing! Amazingly hard, but still amazing!” That was what it was like for me.

4. Reality TV

This was one of the first islands I finished with my sister back in 2008/2009, and it used to be one of my long-time favorites, so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. Tip for coconut toss: place your arrow right in the middle of the palm tree in the background and shoot–you’ll always get it in the “20” basket!

3. Poptropolis Games

This was like Reality TV but better! It made me feel athletic for once. 🙂 It was pretty hard, but I managed to beat it! I loved volleyball even though I wasn’t too good at it. I’d say hurdles was the easiest. GO BLACK FLAGS!!!! Whoo whoo.

2. Monster Carnival

This was the scariest island for me (I know, I’m a scaredycat:) but it was SO AMAZING!!! I loved the music and the idea of have a carnival-monster-thingy. I would change a few things about the plot and I really wish the boss battle was harder, but I absolutely love Ringmaster Raven!

1. And last but not least… ASTRO NIGHTS!!!!!!

This is like the MOTHER of all islands! Hands down the hardest! Like, the Mother Pheonix fight. The volcano rock thingy. THE BOSS BATTLE. OH MY GOD, THE BOSS BATTLE WITH MORDRED. It was SOO HARD. But looking back on it, it was an amazing experience, and I’ll be truly surprised (and happy) if Poptropica ever makes an island harder (and more fun!) than Astro Nights.
